Yes, I've used it while swimming. It does hold up you just have to remember to use water lock mode. Also, because I swim a lot (a couple of hours sometimes) I take it off just because I am overly cautious. The watch will withstand depths of up to 50 meters for up to 10 minutes

This watch replaced my Apple S4 watch and use this device in the same manner as my Apple watch...I have left the Apple nest. Hope this helps!
