A: The Watch is unlocked. I have AT&T and if I leave the phone home it works off its Data Plan. Or you can Bluetooth it and have your phone with you for it to work...
A: Hello gregh, thanks for asking! This watch has LTE connectivity. Samsung has Bluetooth and LTE smart watches. The LTE version can receive calls and messages without being connected to a phone. However, you'll first need to activate service for the watch through the same carrier as your mobile phone. Don't worry, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon all offer plans for the LTE versions of Galaxy Watch. ^Elizabeth
A: What you want/need to do is go to AT&T and buy a "eSim" for $5.00 - the new "eSim" will replace the one that's on the box, I'm not sure why but AT&T didn't/doesn't recognize the one that comes with it. Have AT&T attach that "eSim" simcard # onto your watch cell number. Then go to your Gear app and you should now be able to "Number Sync" your phone and watch quite easily. This is what I had to do to activate mine and it literally took minutes to set it up and it's been working fantastic since!
Q: What is the difference between LTE and Non-LTE watches
A: LTE you can use your watch without your phone. Its like a cell phone
A: This watch works now on Verizon after the update. I was able to put it on my account by just using the Galaxy Gear app. They could not active it until I downloaded the TIZEN update to the watch. Hope this helps.
Q: If i get this watch does it add an additional charge to my phone bill
A: Only if you get the LTE one
Q: Can this watch work with at&t?
A: The watch is unlocked so it should work with any provider. However, to be safe you should probably ask your provider directly. I have Sprint and the Samsung wearable app connected very easily to Sprint and I did not have to go to the store or contact Sprint separately...entire setup was done via the Samsung app. I also use a Samsung G9 phone.
