A:AnswerThe Watch is unlocked. I have AT&T and if I leave the phone home it works off its Data Plan. Or you can Bluetooth it and have your phone with you for it to work...
A:AnswerHello gregh, thanks for asking! This watch has LTE connectivity. Samsung has Bluetooth and LTE smart watches. The LTE version can receive calls and messages without being connected to a phone. However, you'll first need to activate service for the watch through the same carrier as your mobile phone. Don't worry, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon all offer plans for the LTE versions of Galaxy Watch. ^Elizabeth
A:AnswerWhat you want/need to do is go to AT&T and buy a "eSim" for $5.00 - the new "eSim" will replace the one that's on the box, I'm not sure why but AT&T didn't/doesn't recognize the one that comes with it. Have AT&T attach that "eSim" simcard # onto your watch cell number. Then go to your Gear app and you should now be able to "Number Sync" your phone and watch quite easily.
This is what I had to do to activate mine and it literally took minutes to set it up and it's been working fantastic since!
A:AnswerThis watch works now on Verizon after the update. I was able to put it on my account by just using the Galaxy Gear app. They could not active it until I downloaded the TIZEN update to the watch. Hope this helps.
A:AnswerThe watch is unlocked so it should work with any provider. However, to be safe you should probably ask your provider directly. I have Sprint and the Samsung wearable app connected very easily to Sprint and I did not have to go to the store or contact Sprint separately...entire setup was done via the Samsung app. I also use a Samsung G9 phone.
A:AnswerSince your LG G8 thin Q phone is Android 9, there should be no problems with connecting it with the Galaxy Watch. Also remember, depending on your plan, the Galaxy Watch can also have its own assigned line.
A:AnswerHello DennisF, that's a really good question! This watch is compatible with iOS 9.0 and later, and smartphones iPhone 5 and newer. To get the 4G LTE stand-alone experience, currently you must pair with compatible Galaxy Smartphones or Non-Samsung Android smartphones. 4G Standalone LTE experience for Galaxy Watch on iOS devices coming later. ^Elizabeth
A:AnswerI had thought the same thing when I bought this watch. As it turns out, the watch has the sim card already installed. All you need to have to activate the watch LTE is the IMEI which you can find either on the box or in the watch settings. Once the watch has been activated, you will be able to see the ICD. I have Sprint as my carrier and it was super easy to activate.
A:AnswerUnfortunately true.
I just returned the watch I brought for my son for Christmas. It was the LTE version. The numbersync feature, which was essential for the functions could not be activated. AT&T blamed Best Buy for this. I am not sure now. But lost 6-7 hours of my life on customer service and $45 restocking fee when I returned.
I have no idea why AT&T let us Best Buy said anything for them if they cannot come to an agreement when it comes to supporting products.
A:AnswerHello Gunner, that's a really good question! Bixby will launch when you double press the Power key, say its wake-up command, or open it from the Apps screen. ^Elizabeth
A:AnswerYes, this watch is Sprint compatible and you would need a separate SIM card to operate the LTE independently. For LTE use you need a Samsung Galaxy S7 or above.
