Hello DennisF, that's a really good question! This watch is compatible with iOS 9.0 and later, and smartphones iPhone 5 and newer. To get the 4G LTE stand-alone experience, currently you must pair with compatible Galaxy Smartphones or Non-Samsung Android smartphones. 4G Standalone LTE experience for Galaxy Watch on iOS devices coming later. ^Elizabeth
