You can receive text, calls and use some apps that require data (ie. Weather). This would require a data package from your cell provider. It is usually $10/ month. If you will always have your phone with you, thenyou can use it without a plan. You probably shouldn't pay the extra money and just get the non-LTE watch.

A:AnswerI ended up returning mine bc the battery wasn't even lasting 24 hours, but was getting down to 40% about twice a day. This was with disabling many features to try to preserve battery life.
A:AnswerI would definately ask Samsung. Please remember that an "LTE" phone has the capability of a separate phone line attached. This comes in handy if you forget your phone or you misplace your watch and it's away from your phone's connection. Hope this helps.
