• Yes - it actually would connect beautifully and better with your S5 as the S5 has the fitness app already built into the phone. The Galaxy III was actually added a little while after the Gear Fit had been released. :)

• I don't think it connects to the Galaxy S3. The gear fit connects to the S4 and S5.

• Yes, if you upgrade to a new device you can connect your Gear to your new phone. You may need to reset your Gear first however. That you can find within the settings directly on your Gear.
