“I am aware the buds charge inside the case, but can the case wirelessly charge on a QI pad like the galaxy phones? I'm just asking because the case to the apple air pods can and apple is usually not ahead of Samsung.”

Sorry, the case is not wireless charging. USB charging only

First, The current version of the Apple Airpods do NOT charge wirelessly. There is a new Airpod case that is being released in 2018 that will have that ability. Second, the ICON X 2018 model does not wirelessly charge either.
