“Do you need to re-sync with your phone every time the battery dies (or for that matter when you recharge it)? I read in another post that you need to re-sync with the phone everytime the watch battery dies. That seems odd and cumbersome. Wanted to verify.”

No I wouldn't say it re-syncs but when you power it up it will locate the phone and any new data it processes or adds it as if they never separated ( like 3 sec ).

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You do not have to do anything as long as you are connected via bluetooth. The only thing that happens to mine is that it stops receiving connectivity when watch is off but once it connected to blue tooth, it reconnects automatic.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No, you do not need to manually re-sync as the watch will automatically re-sync for you. When my phone died and after it was charged and powered back on, the watch automatically re-synced. Also, if you leave the blue tooth area (example leaving your phone at home while you run to the store) it will resync automatically when you get in blue tooth range.
