“Can the Gear s2 be used to make and take calls via bluetooth? I was at the store yesterday and an employee in the Samsung device area told me the Gear S2 will be able to make and take calls via the bluetooth connection, making it possible to use the watch Dick Tracy style as long as your phone is connected to the watch. I have not come across this information in my research of this watch. Can anyone confirm or deny this allegation?”

You can use the watch to make and answer calls... on your phone. it is really lame. the gear s2 and s2 classic do not have a speaker, and therefore cannot be used to take/make calls. the 3g version will have that capability. I got the gear s2 last week and i was thoroughly disappointed to find out that it lacks that ability. it will answer the call, but you can't speak to them on your watch; you'll need to pull out your phone and put it to your ear. also means any music needs to be played through your phone or other bluetooth device. alarms on your watch dont make any noise either. not a deal breaker for me... yet.

The 3g version will be a stand alone device which will allow you to make and receive calls directly from your Gear.

Please try again later.It allows you to swipe answer or decline then you have to get your phone out to talk...or have a wireless bluetooth earphones connected to your phone to answer hands free. But you can do that with the wireless bluetooth headset without a watch. So basically it's like having a remote control feature for answering calls. Not cool.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Not with the built in apps, at least not as I've seen. You can respond to a text by voice, the watch will convert the audio into text and you can create a voice recording reminder but you can't listen to anything through the watch.
