Great improvement from the Gear 2

I love my Gear S2. I upgraded from a Gear 2 (the one with the camera) and I'm glad I held off from the first Gear S watch. The round design and bezel really does make the gear look like a watch and with the rotational bezel it's so easy to navigate through the widgets. Yes, it is still a touchscreen so you can still use your finger to swipe across the screen. Originally, I used my Gear 2 for notifications, calls, photos and the occassional fitness. But with the Gear S2 not only can i read my notification but I can text back as well (yes, voice to text works). There's no speaker on the S2 unless it's the 3G version but that's fine. I rarely use the speaker on the original gear. I do miss the occassional time when I wipe my gear out to take a quick pic but I can live without it. This watch made me more aware of my fitness since I use the face with the guy sitting and another one running. if I sit too long the sitting icon enlarges or vice versa for the running icon. It pushes me to get off my lazy butt to work out even more. It has events widget too so it's so much easier to look at my calendar on my wrist then having to dig into my pocket for my phone, unlock then search for the calendar icon and load it up. just a flip of the wrist, navigate with the bezel with 3 ro 4 clicks to the right and BAM my events are there. Easy. Not much of a learning curve if you already had a Samsung Gear.

I have had this watch for about a month and still love it. I got a stainless band to replace the leather band that came with the watch. Being compatible with normal 20mm bands makes it easy to customize the watch. This feels like a "normal" watch on your wrist, and I have gotten several compliments on the looks. The bezel makes using the Gear S2 super easy, and fun to use. The watch is snappy and the battery still has over 50% after a full day of use. Getting emails, texts, and seeing who is calling all from your wrist is more useful than I thought it would be.

After looking through reviews, watching videos, and asking friends for their opinion, I ultimately chose the classic gear s2 as my smart watch choice. I have had the s2 since June 30th 2016. The deciding factors were compatibility, functionality and design. Compatibility: I am a Samsung user. My phone and tablet are both samsung. I have used, know, and enjoy this brand. Naturally a Samsung made watch will ultimately be most compatible with a phone of the same maker. Yet even if you aren't a Samsung user, the gear s2 will work with other android phones. I personally enjoy the s health app so when I saw that the watch could directly correlate with the phone app I knew it would be great for my work outs or just daily walking around. I love that as soon as I connect my phone to my watch all of the data from the day is instantly synced. You are able to pick the excersize too so that you can track exactly what sort of cardio you're doing at the time. Functionality: Not only is this watch excelent for those who want to track their progress, you can also track your caffeine and water intake. There is an alarm feature and calander app which also correlates with your phone so that you dont have to worry about your phone going off perhaps during meetings or other quiet events. The watch will simply buzz quickly to let you know. It's so discreet too just look at your watch and swipe the notification away when you're done. Same with text! The gear s2 allows you to view incoming texts and even pictures all without phone in hand. There's a weather app along with several other useful apps that really help when you can't access your phone. Design: I absolutely love the classic over the sport. It makes me so glad that I opted for a smart watch instead of a normal analog watch. The display allows you to change the background watch face so that you have TONS of options for a home screen. So some at a glance it looks like a normal watch! It can also give you the date and pedometer off the main screen as well. As far as the outer wear I also love it. It really does look like a classic watch. The bands can even be switched with a normal watch band so that you can always add a chain, rubber, or different color leather band if the one provided doesn't do justice to your style. All in all I am very happy with thus purchase and if ever I felt the need to upgrade I would surely go with samsung again.

I bought this watch because I can not carry my phone at my job. I went back and forth over getting a watch from my wireless carrier, but felt I didn't need a phone on my watch. I know that when am in meetings and didn't want to be disturbed this was great, no noise, no interruptions, just a quick vibration. The watch and it's apps are exceptional and not being as tech savvy as I might like, it work perfectly for me. Be sure to use it to its fullest with the fitness apps and all. I can't answer to all of that yet, but hopefully I will explore more later. The only negative that I have is that the company does not offer more leather watch bands for the classic. Black or brown are the only options at this time. Of course, you can buy something on that the web, but I would rather it be from Samsung .

So, I finally gave in and bought a smartwatch. Been wanting one for quite some time now, but I've been very skeptical of how new the technology is. Now, don't get me wrong, I still have my qualms. For instance, the actual texting feature has proven a tad bit difficult to pick up. It's like going from a Samsung S6 Edge+ to a Motorola Razr in this sense, but just in the keyboard. I feel like I'm back to T9-style texting. However, in defense of this, I'll say messaging also has preset responses that are easy to navigate and a voice texting feature. Also, I'm missing some apps on it (like Facebook and such). Not saying they're even out there yet in the app store, which is part of my issue. I'd like a better bunch of apps. Finally, the watch doesn't have a loudspeaker or anything to play sound. I'm okay with this, but without a bluetooth headset, you're going to lose some functionality. Overall though, the setbacks aren't as bad as I thought. The technology is solid, just needs a few tweaks. Hopefully when the next generation comes out, we'll see some various changes for the better. Until then, this is a great watch. There's so much to do and experience on it. I've only had it for under 72 hours and I already feel as though I couldn't go back to a regular watch again. I'd be trying to switch screens on my Citizen's watch and using the bezel as well...a rotating bezel instead of an actual solid bezel. Haha. It's a great watch overall and I'm happy with my purchase. The only other issue I'll say is an expansion on a previously touched-upon subject: that the next generation will probably be out by October's end (if not late September). I got tired of waiting, but it is an option to consider before spending this amount of money. Since on the topic, I'd say that better options for exchanging should be made available (maybe there are and I just don't know it yet). Like when you get a new phone, sometimes there are promotions that reward you a $150 or $200 credit or something if you trade-in your old one. I'll be interested to see those types of deals when the next generation comes out. Again, until then though, this is a great watch to own.

This smartwatch is amazing it does everything I need it to do. I didn't need it to do everything to replace my phone but to really help me in small things like checking emails, messages, and other various things quickly. I do use it a lot. I always have it on even when I work out and it is very comfortable. At first it bothered me because I haven't worn watches in years, but I quickly got used to it. Now it feels like it's part of my wrist. I honestly love this smart watch and recommend it to anyone who loves Samsung and is in search for a watch.

Everything is awesome except for that you can't talk on the phone because there's no speaker and you can't make any reminders! Other than that it does its soul purpose!

I started with a Samsung gear 2 a year or so ago but it had a square face and poor battery life. This is a huge improvement on appearance, functionality, and small improvement on battery like. I like that it has a battery saver mode! It really does help.

So far since I've bought it I am loving it the only thing I don't like is that you can't talk on the phone with it. Other thing is that voice to text is a little glichy, maybe is my note edge swipe keyboard would sync with it as far as common phrases that I use

This is a great watch. I get so many compliments on how it looks, but I really like how it functions. Just like the professional reviewers say, the bezel is really the selling point (and the fact that it looks like a watch). It really does function well, I can still get over 24 hours out of a charge and the customization is great. I really like the different band options and they are not expensive and quick to change.

I have upgraded from my Gear Fit to a Moto 360 and the watch was just too bulky. There have been other watches specifically made for ladies, but they don't go with everything. This watch has a classic look and doesn't look like you're wearing your man's watch for the day. It syncs very well to my phone, display is clean and HD, and it allows you to totally customize the face as much as Android Wear does.

My wife really wanted a Fitbit, but I figured I would and should spend the extra money for something other than just a ugly black band of a eyesore for the arm. She has a Samsung phone that she uses to monitor her information on the S Health app. She is very satisfied and glad that I went this route.

I brought this watch as an upgrade from my fit bit It fits a woman's wrist nicely without looking manly like the gear3. The one thing that I don't like is the battery life. I get about a day and a half out of my watch and have to make sure that charge it every night.

I was on the fence about getting a smartwatch for a number of reasons (hadn't found one that looked good, questioned how much I would use it...), but the recent expiration of my Jawbone fitness band forced my hand. My primary purpose for getting the watch is health and sleep tracking. I did thorough research on watches and paired down my list to the two Samsungs (S2 and S3). The S3 was MUCH bulkier so I went with the S2. Man, this watch delivers!!!! I love the associated S-Health app and the watch has also been impressive on so many other levels (looks, telling time, weather, text messages...) I got the platinum finish and have since paired it with an after-market stainless steel band. It looks incredibly similar to my old Citizen watch. I would reccomend that anyone in the market for a smartwatch start their search with the S2.

this is a great product seamless linking to my wife's galaxy phone, and only a quick demo for her to be off an running. like I said an excellent product. I AM however disappointed that I ordered a new watch, not a refurb, or open boxed item, a new watch and paid a new watch price. HOWEVER I received a open box item, with Best Buy inspected tape on it. no instructions/manual in the box. and the plastic wrap I would expect to be covering the glass face not present. REALLY bestbuy? if I wanted an open box item to give as a gift to my wife I would have purchased a open box item. all that aside. it is a great product.
