These come with e-sims or embedded sims, sims that are "electronic" or preinstalled, however you like to think of it. They can't be removed, or installed yourself. They are suppose to have "profiles" that allow us to change carriers as desired, sortof downloading sims from different carriers if you will. But, YES it will function as a stand alone phone, as long as it it activated with it's own number, so if you leave your real phone at home (ex: Note 4, 5) your S2 3G/4G will switch to use it's own number and call, text etc...now they are pushing numbersync (gimmick) so it will use your note 4/5's number still when out of blue tooth rage, but only for calls and voice mail, data connection will be used for text and email. So using the watch's own number to text when out of blue tooth range will use shared messages hehe trying to get us to use data instead of unlimited messages haha.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes this watch can have a separate phone line for an extra $10 a month, and it can be linked to your regular phone by call forwarding. Make sure it is not just the Bluetooth watch though because there are 2 different types of that watch.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, if you buy the AT&T one. No if you buy the regular one from the store. The ones for the carrier plan are made special to accept a SIM card. The regular S2 Classics do not.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello there, The 3G/4G version of the S2 does not take a Sim card. They are supported by the carriers, but they do not accept a Sim card. Thanks for the question. ^Mic
