“I have Samsung VR version 2015. Do the controller work with this headset or should I upgrade and buy the 2017 version? What are the difference.”

As far as I know the controller should work. As it's Bluetooth to your phone and not the gear itself.

Please try again later.Yes the control will work it connects to your phone through blu tooth it's a motion control so in some games it's a hand in vr or your gun flashlight etc it's fun to have the games that use the comtrol are fun and a nice second option when I don't feel like playing psvr or if I want to take it to show family or friends
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The controller is bluetooth so yes it will work. One thing to keep in mind however not all apps can work with the controller yet. Some you will still need to use the touchpad on the headset. As for the 2015 vs 2017 I would suggest getting the 2017, the plastic inside around the eye pieces is now black which is better for peripheral vision. The headset is usb type c and usb micro so its more future proof. The lens are different also the 2017 has a little bit better field of view, and a little better space inside so better for people with glasses also, if that matters to you
