• No, cannot change phones. You must you use this with your Samsung smartphone.

• You can supply power to the phone while using the device. However, the phone is always on when installed in the headset. So, it does loose power faster than it charges. I've found the phone charges faster when removed from the headset. With a fully charged battery, you should have more than enough power to watch a movie on Netflix.
