Yes and yes. Each child can have their own profile and log-ins saved and I believe Chromebooks to be a better value and more useful than most tablets. Pictures can be downloaded to thumb drives or other external media due to the Chromebook architecture and cloud based design.

The best way to determine if it will meet the needs of your kids is really to check it out, and see if it can perform the tasks, games and features that you want. Not all programs are available on the Chromebook interface that might be available on a PC (and the other way around, too), so you'll want to see if you have access to the programs you want most for your kids. In many cases, it may meet their needs just fine. In some specific cases, such as the need for installing specific programs, a PC may be a better choice.
