• If it has a SATA HDD in there now, you should be able to install this one with no problem. If you have a 5.25" drive in there, you may need to buy a mounting bracket to put this drive into before you install it into your PC. Most modern PC's also tend to have vacant slots available in them for these drives that you can use.

• Yes, this drive will fit in the HP desktop. I looked at a couple vids and saw that you'll need a SATA cable and some extra mounting screws (if you don't want to secure it to the frame).

• Assuming your motherboard has standard SATA and power ports (highly likely), yes, this will work fine. You can either leave it 'floating' without risking any real damage, or perhaps your case has mounting points/brackets available that you can use. There are also 3.5" to 2.5" adapter trays available to mount is in a standard drive bay.
