In all honesty, yes. But I have them in front by the soundbar, and am able to hear the extra background sounds well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello Mike, The wireless rear speakers of the HW-Q930B are best to be used behind you, but you can position them to the front if you need to. You will need to use the provided Soundbar remote and press the SOUND CONTROL until you see SURROUND SPEAKER. Press UP/DOWN to change between Front/Rear placement for the rears. The speakers are labelled LEFT/RIGHT and will need to placed correctly if you change then to the front. ~Samsung Solutions

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.We have our rear speakers on end tables parallel to the back of the couch. They have a speaker on the top and front so the sound bounces off the ceiling and pushes forward. We have about 10’ ceilings and it is a true surround sound experience
