Hi Orioles55, The new HW-Q990B Soundbar has features built in that the Q950A doesn't have. One of the major features is the ability to connect with select 2022 Samsung TVs giving you Dolby Atmos over Wi-Fi, you'll no longer need to connect with an HDMI cable to the TV. The HW-Q990B will be able to give you Q-Symphony over Wi-Fi, Optical or HDMI this year, plus if with the changes to Q-Symphony in our TVs, you can have up to 22 channels of sound connecting the soundbar up to our TVs. We have redesigned the look and feel of our soundbars in 2022. We have removed the fabric from them and moved the LED display from the top of the soundbar, back to the front for easier use. ^Andrew
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It has a higher power woffer. The main bar has a metal screen as opposed to fabric, nice upgrade to better handle pet hair and dust. The display for the bar was moved from the top of the unit to the front of the unit so you can read what input its on without needing to see the top of the bar. This model also supports a wireless connection to your Samsung TV so you don't need to directly connect it to your TV. If you want full ATMOS over wireless I think you need the latest model year of Samsung tv, but it connected to my last years model just fine. The rear speakers may be a little higher power too but I would suggest you google the specs to confirm that.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No experience with the 950A but from the reviews and Google searches it is a nicer sound bar in terms of construction and material, a better and more robust subwoofer, and that it’s more expensive lol I’m pleased with my purchase.
