This speaker system is so good that it made me hate listening to music on my headphones. I’ve had this system about 9 weeks now ($1399 Black Friday deal), and the signal dropping is not an issue at all. I have no experience with the speakers cutting out. The smart things app allows you to adjust the levels of each speaker to your liking, and I highly recommend running the auto EQ. I prefer my sound mode to stay on GAME because it emphasizes the mids, but if you experience voice issues while listening to atoms content, switch it back to standard. Because splurge purchase in a very long time.

I upgraded to the HW-Q990b from the HW-Q850T, and it was a massive upgrade in audio fidelity. I ran the Q850T for approx 3 years with a 2020 QN75 Samsung TV for the QSymphony and "Dolby Atmos" compatability. Unfortunately, the Atmos effect was quite underwhelming, and I just didn't hear any upward firing drivers for overhead sound. I read several different reviews that convinced me to upgrade to the Q990b series a few weeks ago, and am quite happy I did. Dialogue is more crisp, and the Dolby Atmos effect is now very noticeable. One can adjust the individual levels of the upward, side, and wide firing drivers on the main bar and the rear satellites. The rear speakers are now individually powered, and they make their presence known. Unfortunately, the power cables are short and need a nearby outlet if you dont want to run an extension cord. The complete manual is not included though, and must be downloaded. It suggests placing the subwoofer along the same wall as the soundbar, which actually solved my previous problem of the rear speakers losing connectivity at times. I used to have the subwoofer placed in the corner on the opposite wall when I ran the Q850t. Another TV in a nearby room seemed to affect the rear connectivity whenever it was on, as random disconnects became annoyingly frequent when the tv was on. The issue seemed to resolve when the tv was off. I was very annoyed when the Q990b experienced the same issue, until I relocated the subwoofer to the same wall as the soundbar, and incidentally farther away from the other tv. The disconnects stopped, and everything now works as it should. The Q990B is now matched with a 2023 QN75, and it is quite the cinematic experience at home. We have noticed several subtle audio effects we've never heard before, in films we've seen many times.

Best for watching dolby atmos content. The connectivity problem with rear speakers didn’t happen on the ones I bought. Q Symphony feature is added plus. Bass is good as well.

I love this sound bar. I was initially a sceptic, coming from receiver and separates world. The voice clarity and movie sound effects are fantastic. Easily better than my previous separates system that was more expensive. I highly recommend this sound bar. Need to play around with the setup settings to get it right. I have had no issues of rear speakers cutting out.

If you can fork out the extra bucks, so worth it! Bass is incredible compared to lesser models.. so yourself a favor and buy this. You’ll appreciate it when your watching a movie in incredible surround, or listen to your favorite music. So glad I didn’t settle.

Bought this to pair with my Samsung QN90B 75 inch tv. The Dolby Atmos is amazing. 28 speakers total with tv and surround sound speakers. Action movies will never be the same. I have been watching movies non stop since I got this system. Setting up is a breeze just plug and play. Works with Samsung smart things.

This soundbar is fantastic, easy to setup, and easily tunable to make it sound the best for my space.

I have a room set up with a nice AV system so i have high standards when it comes to sound output and quantity. All i have to say is this sound bar in my open floor plan living room keeps up with my av setup. Im blown away. Very loud, high quality sound fills the room very well. Dont hesitate, buy it.

Soundbar exceeded my expectation. Heard issues about rear speakers cutting out but haven't had that issue. Awesome soundbar

exceptional the sound is perfect when paired with a 75 QN90B Have to tinkle with the settings but would sugest to use with smarthings app as well subwoofer placement is perfect as well although i would test different areas of your room for your best listening comfort but ,The Q symphonies work great to but remember this only works with 2021 and up samsung smart tvs you can go wrong

Great system. We have high ceilings and the Dolby Atmos sounds amazing. The only thing that could be better is if the AC cord for the rear speakers was longer.

Didnot believe until I started using it. Perfect sound system for my home. I absolutely loved it.

4/5 due to unfortunately my device like many others have witnessed happened to deal with disconnect of the rear satellite speakers. however it RARELY happens. I yet have received feedback from Samsung. Other than that it's a solid piece to expand your audio from TV, Streaming device or mobile device

Great quality soundbar. Center, left and right with up firing Atmos and end speaker that throws the front left and right surround out to the sides. It is a heavy bar, so that should equate to good magnets in the speakers. The Sub-woofer connects wirelessly to the bar. It needs to be plugged into an electrical socket. The rear surround speakers are both horizontal and up firing Atmos speakers. This is my fourth Atmos surround soundbar setup and these are the largest and heaviest rear speakers yet. The rear speakers connect wirelessly, but like the subwoofer need to be plugged into an electrical socket. These HW-Q990B bars have a reputation for having a hard time getting the left rear speaker to connect and I struggled to get mine to connect, but finally it did connect. Updating the firmware is a posted sometimes solution for getting the left rear to connect, but I didn't try it as I bought a Geek Squad certified floor model that had the inspection stickers on it, so I assumed that they would have updated the firmware. You need the Samsung app on your phone to get all the features. You need to click the three dots in the upper right of the app to get the adjustments for the rear speakers. It has a feature called adaptive sound which analyzes the sound coming from each speaker and adjusts the sound accordingly. They are great speakers. Even my wife commented on how they were better than our previous set and they were a top end brand. We do not have a perfect surround speaker placement layout in our living room and they still sound really good. Great soundbar, but you need to have the ability and the desire to set it up right. It is not a plug it in and everything is perfect experience. There are lots of videos on YouTube on setting these up. This model has been replaced by the Q990C so they may have fixed the aggravation of the difficulty with the left rear surround speaker connecting on it. Oh, and for you base lovers, it will shake the walls in action movies, but you can set it anyway you want. A hint for those who might be disappointed with the lack of volume on the surround speakers, lower the volume on all the bar speakers and turn up the rears all the way and then just turn up the general volume. Also remember, you only get sound out of the rears with content that has surround mastered audio. It also has center channel enhancement which increases the volume of the dialog and lowers the background audio. You have your option to use or not use this feature.

My surround sound receiver died on me so that put me in the market for a new one but also was looking into sound bars. After looking at receivers I decided to go with a sound bar and after researching i decided on this one. I brought it on Black Friday and I'm very pleased with my decision. Sounds great, gets really loud, nice bass, and easy setup.
