“Confused w/ bluetooth/wifi vs hdmi choice. Any sound/benefit connecting 800D using wireless setup vs hdmi, to my S84D 77" tv (have wifi, internet/tv will be via CAT 6 cable) and how does eARC play in this? looking for best solution, but prefer no cables.”

Hello SW123, IIf you connect the HW-S800D to the HDMI eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) port, this is the best way to ensure high-quality audio, such as Dolby Atmos or DTS:X. It supports high-bitrate audio formats without any loss or compression. Alternatively, when connected via Wi-Fi, you won’t need any cables, and you can still utilize Wireless Dolby Atmos and enjoy great audio. However, note that the audio will be compressed in this setup. I recommend trying both options — first, connected via HDMI eARC and then via Wi-Fi — to see which you prefer. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.As far as I know, connecting via bluetooth will give you the same performance as connecting with HDMI cable. Sometimes it takes a little bit for soundbar to synch to tv which may be alleviated with HDMI connection.
