Q: QuestionDo you need to remove the case for a phone holster before placing on charger?I have a Samsung S5 and to slide into a hip holster, it has to be in a case. Does that have to be removed first for the charger to work? Same question for my new S6 Edge (which I love!). Thanks.

• A:Answer I use this with my Galaxy S6 and a Otterbox Defender and it charged the phone without any issues.

• A:Answer Works fine on my S7. Will charge through case materials (except metal). At 5w this is not a fast charger. Best for light or overnight use. S7 and S7 Edge can benefit from fast 10w or 15w fast charger for heavy users.

• A:Answer Yes This is what the Samsung site states regarding Compatiblity: Qi-enabled smartphones. Samsung handsets include Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note edge (these require Wireless Charging Battery Covers, sold separately) as well as Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 active, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+ and Galaxy Note5, which do not require additional charging battery covers The first list all require the expensive adapter. The S6's and Note 5 are the only ones that truly work with it.

• A:Answer Any battery cover that is Qi-compatible will work. If you have a Samsung Galaxy S3,4, or 5 there are official battery covers (and the flip-open case) that you can get that will work with this charger.

• A:Answer It should as long as you can get a receiver for your phone. Wireless chargers do not charge as quickly as cables. You can expect it to take several hours to fully charge a dead phone.

• A:Answer No, the Samsung GS5 does not have wireless charging capability on its own. There is an aftermarket product you can buy and stick to your battery that will make your GS5 work with the Qi Wireless chargers.

• A:Answer Hi there. This is an interesting one. This does utilize the same Qi technology used for wireless charging as other Samsung device. • A:Answer Yes and no... ANY Qi wireless charging pad will work with ANY wireless device/cell phone; HOWEVER, you need to make sure the phone itself has the wireless charging plate in the back cover. If your not sure if your LG does or does not, simply pop your phone cover/back off. If you see a small odd rectangular-ish shaped metal plate sitting there your good to go. If NOT, then you would do like I did on my old Galaxy S4 and simply purchase a cover/back that has the wireless charging plate in it. That'll cost ya about $10-$20, and you'll probably have to find it online as most stores including Best Buy rarely if ever carry them in-store.

• A:Answer Qi isn't a phone, it's technology built into some newer phones that let it charge wirelessly on a charging pad like this one. My Note5 has Qi technology built in to it so I just place the phone on the charging pad and it starts charging. My wife's Galaxy S5 does not have QI built in so I had to purchase a separate piece that connects to the battery compartment to make it work with the charging pad.
