The sensor handles multiple things at a time. Since the hub only pings the sensor for temperature on intervals, it works to tell temperature, vibration, and whether it is open simultaneously.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have not seen this sensor as a vibration sensor. It has a tilt function and an open/close function (activated by a magnet) - those two functions work independent from each other (you choose either tilt or Open/close) the temperature function works regardless of your first choice - you can always get a temp reading.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it does all the above at once. In smartthings it'll show the temp after you click on the device, and you can download a smartapp to detect door knocks. It'll always show open/closed status too, but it's accelerometer based so idk what kind of vibration detection you're looking for but if it's for an alarm I wouldn't use the door knock app because it's really sensitive, like fireworks or my dog jumping around get me notifications for doors detecting knocks. If you code you could probably set the threshold and make a better app but I'm not bothered by it enough to actually program any thing now that I'm past the programming classes that my degree required.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The sensor appears to do all functions all the time. I use it in a set position so it doesn't report vibration. However it constantly show switch position and reports temperature.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it does monitor both at the same time. I use mine to monitor if my door is opened, if there is a knock at the door and it reads the temperature at the location of the door.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. You must have the SmartThings Hub to monitor temperature and vibration
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think so. The temperature function seems to be an always monitoring, always transmitting function as a base function. I don't use it for other things, so don't know for sure. When it is connected it records the temperatures and battery satisfactorily.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It can do multiple sensors. I have three multipurpose sensors. It will do an alert if they are opened or if there is vibration. A train which is close which rattles the house sets it off. I can go to each sensor and see if it's open or closed and what the temperature is and the active history. I think you could use IFTT to do some other things. Having this product for some time I think it is constantly monitoring and if you look at the activity sensor it gives you a lot of information about what is happening at the sensor level.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. It can monitor all parameters simultaneously. Open/close, pitch/yaw, vibration and temperature. However most smart apps will only use one or two at a time and it doesn’t give the information in real time. It not necessarily designed to monitor them continuously. For example if it were placed on a wheel it wouldn’t report its RPM only that it had detected a vibration or motion on its X axis.
