- Answer Yes it can be used on a sliding door. The two surfaces don't need to touch, just come close to each other to be activated.

QuestionAnyone know the maximum temp it can withstand? I put one my mailbox and it reached temps over 120 degs today but temps outside were below 90. I assume on a hot day it might reach 150. Is that too much? Thanks

QuestionCan the sensor act as multiple type of sensors at one time or only one at a time? Can it monitor temperature and vibrations simultaneously?

- Answer The sensor handles multiple things at a time. Since the hub only pings the sensor for temperature on intervals, it works to tell temperature, vibration, and whether it is open simultaneously.

- Answer It does in fact require a SmartThings hub to connect. Although it will work with Amazon Alexa not all features are available through Alex.

- Answer You have to add an ‘Automation’ in the app. Essentially what that does is you tell the system if something happens with a specific device then perform a specific action. (Such as a notification). It’s an option in the menu

- Answer The Arlo hub’s only purpose is to connect your Arlo cameras to the internet. It is not a Smarthome hub. You would need something like a SmartThings hub to control this sensor
