• Hi there, The MX-ST90B does not have an internal battery, it does need to be plugged in to the wall to be used. ~Samsung Solutions

• Must be always plugged in (2 prong outlet). Unfortunately this does not have a battery. 1700W would eat through anything fast, and it is already heavy without battery weight. Could use a portable battery backup, but then your spending even more.

• This model must remain plugged in. The smaller ST’s (ST50 &ST40 have an onboard rechargeable (typically charges in 3-3.5 hours) lithium ion battery that will have reduced RMS output and keep music playing for 12-15 hours (situation dependent).
