Yea the 8550u chip is has 4 cores. Probably a miswrite by Best Buy. They did miswrite the 13.3 inch version of the OG model to have external graphics as well. It didn't and they changed it in the end. As for the RAM, I am surprised as well. Hoping for it to be a mistake of Best Buy as well. It's bad enough that it does not get thunderbolt 3 on its usb c port......

The person has confirmed that the website had the wrong information, and that he will have the problem resolved. This goes for both the 8550u processor being a Dual core and the RAM being DDR3. So, basically, the 8550u is a Quad core and this laptop has a DDR4 RAM.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I reached out to Samsung to ask this question, and the CS Rep informed me that the RAM was LPDDR4, so BestBuy's listing must be incorrect. And yes, the 8550u is a Quad core processor.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just bought this and it is a great laptop. The memory is ddr4 2 sticks of 8 gigabytes each totalling 16 gigabytes. The keyboard is backlit and no problems with flickering, i have not tried 4k, but i am using the ij5 combo usbc adapter and it detected it fine and works well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The i7-8550u doesn't even support LPDDR4 RAM, so it's clearly not that. LPDDR3 runs at 2133MHz and uses less power, while DDR4 runs at 2400MHz, so it's slightly faster but uses more power. I doubt you'd be able to tell which RAM it has in real-world usage.
