• The Samsung info actually says to not put a screen protector on it.

• If it's to reduce glare, then no, this screen already has anti-glare.

• The only reason I would think a screen protector would be necessary would be if you use it in the tablet form a lot and it stands a strong risk of getting scratched. The screen itself has a nice matte finish to it already, so fingerprints aren't that bad, and adding another matte finished type of screen protector would probably make the screen look pretty bad.
