The 97 version is the new version of the older 95 version. The 97 version is now no longer just listed as a business monitor, it's the replacement. I can't confirm if the specs are different, but the 95 is/will be discontinued. This (97) is the newest version. According to the Samsung website for this version (97) has the following features related to your question: NVIDIA® G-SYNC™ and FreeSync Premium Pro Support Dropping frames means dropping chances to put your enemy in the dirt. With NVIDIA® G-SYNC™ and FreeSync Premium Pro support, Odyssey matches every frame from your graphics card, so you’re never caught short from moment to moment.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The G9 and G9 Neo are G-Sync "compatible". That is, they will be recognized as G-Sync monitors in the display attributes on your PC. That said, neither monitor provides FULL g-sync support. With the latest G-sync drivers, G-sync is able to utilize adaptive sync, which is the AMD Freesync technology. A G-sync compatible monitor like this will NOT adjust vertical sync. That's why some of the earlier versions of this monitor suffered from flickering during game play. That problem was addressed in the firmware update from Samsung and the driver update for the 2000 and 3000 series Nvidia cards. Lastly, the monitor will only reach the full 240hz refresh rate if connected to a pc via the displayport.
