• You can output the audio through your laptop, just make sure to check the audio setting once you've hooked up the monitor.

• You would have to buy speakers, because when you plug it in the laptop it puts display and sound into the monitor. Depending on how much you care about the audio quality, you caould get speakers as cheap as $30 USD.
