You can use it as a tv with whatever (game console, blueray player, roku etc). You don't need a pc if that's what you're asking I don't use one.

If you mean in terms of connecting a computer it can connect to anything with a display port or HDMI output be it desktop, laptop, etc.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This monitor can be plugged into a desktop or Laptop. If it is paired with a desktop you will be able to use a Display Port cord to hook it up. That will allow to get the full 144hz out of monitor. You may also use an HDMI but the refresh rate top out 120hz. The great thing about this monitor is the fact that it’s a Smart Monitor, meaning you can just plug it into your wall outlet, turn it on, and use the WiFi feature to hook it up to your home internet router. After that you are able to choose from a number streaming services like Netflix, etc. Or there’s the Samsung TV app which is free and it’s basically like having satellite television but streamed through the internet. This is a great 4k monitor for the price. I am satisfied with my purchase.
