How does this do with shag rugs? null

I wouldn't think it's a good idea for use on any carpet more than a half inch high

It's my experience shag rugs are not its thing. Mine seemed to get confused on a shag throw rug I had outside the bathroom. He didn't stop working, just spinned around until freed from rug & appeared to avoid it all together after that. Since I wanted the area cleaned, I removed the rug. No big deal to me as I was not emotionally attached to the rug. Replaced with a low-pile throw rug & all is fine now.

Not the best on it, goes over it, seems like it gets confused and makes it's way off the area rug

It won't do mine at all, won't even try to climb on top of it

Works great. I ran our Dyson vacuum over the carpet after the unit had ran it's route for the day and picked up very little debris.

I don't know for sure, but I don't think it would work well for that type of carpet.
