Yes! It took us 5 years of blocking steps to learn that it does have a sensor to avoid stairs. One day we forgot to block the stairs and saw “James” heading towards them, but it did sense the stairs and moved away.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The bot does recognize "edges". For example, in my house I have a sunken living room, which we haven't remodeled yet! The bot will stop and the edge of the living room and not fall over. I haven't take the chance of it falling over while its on the upstairs landing, so I block the staircase. The bot also comes with adhesive magnet strips to use as 'edges' - I haven't use them yet.
