Yes, I have an open stairwell, it has never gone down.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it does. I was nervous the first time near my stairs, so I watched it closely... to catch it from tumbling down if it failed to stop. It looks like it's not going to stop, but it does stop (slams on the 'brakes') before it does, then backs up. I was worried it may not detect the stairs since they are carpet, and have more of a round edge (vs hardwood stairs with sharp edges)... but it had no problems. Still, would say to keep an eye on it the first few times it's around the stairs, just to be safe.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the vacuum will avoid stairs.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The instructions say you need to place reflective tape every 5.5 inches along the top of the stairs for the vacuum to read it and stop.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not sure. User manual says to use a certain boundary tape zinc a “U” shape 6 inches away from where you don’t want it to go. Stairs, areas that might be wet, etc... It did not come in the box so I guess it’s an accessory you have to purchase separately.
