- Answer Peg, The Galaxy Note8 accepts microSD cards up to 256GB, so the 256GB PRO Plus microSD card is compatible. If another microSD card is already in use, it will need to be removed. ~Samsung Pro

- Answer The Reader is a small USB adapter that you insert the MicroSD card into, as very few computers already have MicroSD slots. Pictures attached. (The pictured MicroSD card is a different model than this product, as my 256gb MicroSD is currently in use. However, the Reader is the same one that came with this product.)
