They are wireless in the traditional sense as they connect (automatically) to the sound bar without speaker wire. However, they are powered, so there is an electrical cord for each speaker that needs to be plugged in.

Hi Ed, The rear speakers are fully wireless to the soundbar and each other. You will need to plug them individually in for power. ~Samsung Solutions
