Hi John, If you are considering placing your rear speakers on either stands or mounting them on the wall, there are a few things to consider. If you do plan on mounting the speakers on the wall, do not place them too close to the ceiling, as this can cause interference with the top-firing speakers when playing Dolby Atmos content. ~Samsung Advisor
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have the rears set up on stands just above ear height behind our sofa. We let the sound bar handle the room adjustments as the space is extremely awkward and not ideal for a home theatre setup. The results have been excellent and far exceeding our expectations. Ideally you would want them a lil further back and away.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They should be on stands at head height when sitting! Up firing speakers need room to bounce sound off of your ceiling.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They need to be kept on the shelf in the store where they are being sold. Atmos speakers that are set up to bounce off the ceiling never sound good. Save your money and buy one without atmos bouncy speakers or spend more and do it the right way by installing Atmos speakers actually in the ceiling.
