It's tricky, but yes it's workable even though in the beginning seems impossible. Lol. I have a 9500 series tv so not sure if it's the same on the 7500 series. You set up the surround in the advanced sound settings on the tv. Make sure your r series speakers are in the list on the tv and put them in the correct postion and save (seems crazy to have to do this on the tv and the app, but makes all the difference for surround volume). Then you use the multi room app upper left 3 lines and select bar then select surround setup for other adjustments . I had to adjust the bar volume fairly low and the surround speakers all the way up in the multi room app (I hope to see a software update for this in the future as the volume balance between all of them is too extreme) and it sounds great! As far as playing music in the multi room app, yes, you can adjust volume there as well. You have to start the music then tap the 3 lines top left of the app and select "group speakers and select all speakers and save. The music plays equally loud through all speakers where when in Surround mode, the balance is much different between front and rear speakers. I have to add that internet signal stability is so critical with this setup. I had to buy an internet signal extender even though my router signal was strong. It kept dropping speakers part way through a movie and thed extender solved this problem. I'm on vacation and noted this all from memory. Have fun with it. Take the time to learn it and you'll be very pleased.
