Refurbished, open box or returned units may have a different warranty than a product that was sold new in the box. We recommend contacting the retailer directly to find out more details on any given products prior to purchase. As to why the product is refurbished, sometimes it was returned from a customer who was either unable to operate the machine, decided they didn't want it or had a possible malfunction that was checked and fixed from an authorized repair process.
