“5.1 capability I currently have a samsung system that is about 3-4 yrs old and is an HD upgrade DVD player (not blu-ray)...I want a bluray, but am very happy with my current 5.1 speaker system....can i just swap out the receiver for a blu-ray player and connect my speakers to the "new" unit?”

No, you cannot connect speakers to the Blu-Ray player. You may be able to send the audio (optical audio) from the Blu-Ray player to your home theater system if your home theater system has an optical input. You may want to check with your local Best Buy expert for further information or to see if what you have will work with a Blu-Ray player. Thanks for your interest in Samsung products. --HDTech
