The answer with using the bracket is correct. It took me about to figure out but it does work. See photos. You need to bend the backet back and forth at the break lines to shorten it's lenght. The photos I attached do not show that yet.

Please try again later.I'm having this same issue and I'm not sure what the other answer is talking about because there is nothing in the installation manual about using the brackets when doing a side mount. I did find that the online version of the installation manual shows an additional set of screws (designated as being for side mount) that were not in my installation kit or listed in the paper copy of the installation guide I was following (see image). They appear to be quite a bit larger so they would probably do the trick. I only found this because I forgot to bring the paper copy with me to work and I planned to call the number listed in the manual about my issue. Funny that the manual says to call this number if you have an installation problem and all the person on the phone would say is that they recommend professional installation. He didn't seem to understand that the problem was missing parts though he did finally offer to send me another installation kit but said it may take up to 14 days for me to receive it. I WOULD NOT RECCOMEND BUYING A SAMSUNG DISHWASHER BASED ON THIS ISSUE AND THE COMPLETE LACK OF SUPPORT THEY PROVIDE! I'm going to attempt to get the missing parts directly from BestBuy and will be returning this unit if they can't provide them in a reasonable amount of time.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This is an old question, so hopefully you got it figured out. But for anyone else with this problem. We did this too and were very confused at first. The bracket is what you need to be threading through. Make sure you've mounted the bracket correctly. (it's in the instructions. That book we all tossed aside) so the screw goes completely through the hole with the cap. Think of this as an access hole. It's just there so you can get the screw and screwdriver to the bracket. The screw will then meet up with your bracket that will actually support the unit against the cabinet. You should be able to thread the screw though the bracket and get a nice secure hold. This may be easier to see before the unit is in place. Make sure you placed the brackets before putting it in as well. (been there) Then replace the cap on the access hole and your dishwasher will be sealed and not leak through that hole and should be secure as well. Hope that helps.
