Questioncan this camera be turned on and off thru your cell phone ?

- Answer Not in itself. I have mine plugged into a seperate WiFi controlled switch, which allows me to power the cameras on and off remotely with my cell phone. I found this important as these cameras occasionally need to be reset for continued event recording.

QuestionHow is the quality sound on the two way spaker system?do you need to be standing close to the camera to speak? Is there background noise that makes it hard to hear the voice of the person talking through the speaker?

- Answer Yes, I hear background noise, the mic on the cam works well and you can plug in external PC speakers, but it is not high quality, it does work pretty well though. The faster your connection the better the quality of audio/video. It looks good on my iPad, and my Galaxy S5 and best on my wired PC.

- Answer You need some sort of network to set it up. Once it is online, in theory you don't need a network if you don't want to remotely view the camera, and just access the memory card manually. Otherwise, if you want to access it remotely, you will need a network (wired or wireless).

- Answer No, it uses a power cable similar to what you have on a cellular phone. If you want to make it battery operated, you could use the power cable (which is USB with an AC adapter) to connect the USB cable directly to a portable charger.

- Answer Just unplug it. It requires electric to run. But in the settings you can just turn on and off the alerts like I do. The camera is always o, when I leave my home I just turn on and off the alerts. It work similar to an alarm. Any motion or noise you get an alert on your phone.

- Answer Yes, after you connect the camera to your home network you can access it with the smart cam app on your phone. The app lets you set up motion detection with alerts, record video or pics to your phone or memory card or play audio through a built-in speaker from your phone (ex:hey you kids get back in bed lol).

- Answer It's not a small camera so it will not be discrete...but again if people see it and it would be deterrent this would work. Keep in mind how you plan on mounting this camera as there are better and more aesthetically pleasing security alternatives.

QuestionCan it send a pic to my smart phone or iPad close to live time? If not a picture, a short video? I'm going to be gone for a while and I suspect my landlord snoops when I'm not home. I actually caught them once; a pic would help a lot.

- Answer You'll it will send system alert when the sound or motion sensor is triggered. It doesn't have a home and away profile option so you have to manually turn off sensors when at home or get bombarded with system alerts when your home
