• I ordered the SAMSUNG SMARTTHINGS ADT SMOKE ALARM and found it does not connect to a regular SmartThings hub. I returned it and got the First Alert Smoke Detector and Carbon Monoxide Alarm (ZCOMBO) which works nicely. Surprisingly, Best Buy sells the ADT version but not the First Alert ZCOMBO one. I got the ZCOMBO on line at Lowes. I hope that helps.

• These only works with the ADT smartthings hub. Usually a hundred dollars on ebay.

• This is in response to First Alert suggestion over this ADT smoke detector. The alerts for First Alert are sent through Iris which has now announced they are going out of business. Who knows what will happen with the handling of the alerts now and especially long term.

• As far as I know, these only work with the ADT Samsung SmartThings hub. They use a unique communication protocol.
