The Smartthings Hub directs other devices what to do. It is not designed to make noise. Therefore you need another device in the home, that has audio, (like a speaker or a door bell chime) to be told to make a noise when the door opens. You can get a text message that the door was opened. In addition, with a smart lock, you can get a notification with what code was used to enter the home.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The hub itself does not make any noise. Alerts are sent to your smart phone, SMS to your mobile phone, or compatible smartthings speaker if configured.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The hub itself does not have a built in speaker or way to make sound. However, there are compatible sirens with or without lights that work with it. It can also use some networked speakers such as Sonos to play sounds through. If you happen to have an Amazon Echo or Google Home those can play smartthings sounds as well.
