It depends on how you have the fan switched. If you have a GE in wall fan control, yes. If you have an Iris 2nd generation device controlling it, yes. If you have a first generation Iris device, no. The buzz is that ALL first generation devices have a proprietary communication method based on ZigBee. No hub that I have looked at supports those devices.

SmartThings is already compatible with many Iris devices and we are looking to be compatible with all of the devices by the end of March when the service is ended. I had some wireless door sensors from a previous service that we're not recognized by Smartthings however a developer had already posted the fix which was easy to implement.
