Yes, this plays regular DVD and Blu-ray.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, this model plays and upscales both Blu-ray and DVD to 4K when connected to a 4K TV, as shown on page 47 of the user manual. Also, Averageguy was mistaken when he said that it plays 3D Blu-ray - this model does not support 3D.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This player plays 4k uhd discs, 3d bluray, blu ray, dvd, and cd. It upconverts bluray discs to near 4k, and of course plays 4k uhd disk at full 4k. Dvd's i believe likely up converted to 1080p like most 4k upscalers on the market right now. However again, this 8500 is full uhd 4k disc player
