“I have a new M8500. It is connected through my Marantz receiver via HDMI. When playing a dvd I can only hear back ground noise and no voices. Oddly during previews voices sound fine. The Sony that was in its place worked perfectly fine. Need help.”

Check your receivers surround sound modes. Previews are usually encoded in Dolby 2.0. Concentrate on your Center Channel Speaker.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the same problem. Apparently when switching to the main movie sound, the sound autoselect doesn't always work right. Try going into settings and selecting PCM or another option that works right for you rather than letting it select.
