Yes, the player can output 1080p, but it doesn't downconvert to my knowledge, so you can't playback a 4k blue ray at 1080p. To be honest, i haven't tried it, but down conversion isnt mentioned in the manual. All your standard Blue ray and DVD disks will work great. The player supports Samsung Smart View. It allows you to connect smart phones and tablets (android and IOS) using an app you install. This app actually uses the WiFi link, not Bluetooth- so both your phone and player need to be connected to the same WiFi network. So yes, you can have anything you see on your phone get streamed through the player to your TV.
