“Hi, I have lost the remote and can not operate the Blue ray player. I did not buy any warranty for it since it was so low cost. Is there another way to operate the blue ray player. It has no play button on the player itself like older models.”

Try purchasing a universal remote. Or if you have cable tv or satellite you can sync your remote with the Blu Ray player and it will work that way
