• Yes. It will be required that you reformat the drive by Time Machine, so if you want to use any of the software on the drive make sure you cooy it to a safe location and put it back after it has been formatted. Enjoy. That's why I bought it.

• yes, it can be used with time machine. look online for the steps to set it up. I partitioned my drive into two parts. One for time machine backups and one for my CDs. working great so far.
