I'll provide additional info as opposed to calling this an answer. The F in the model number means it was manufactured in 2013. I'm sure your 4k disc player is requiring an HDCP 2.2 compliant TV to play the 4k content. If the player is not working, look to see if there is a port on the One Connect box labeled MHL. On my 2015 Samsung TV, that is the only port that is HDCP 2.2 compliant, the others are not. Use the MHL port for the 4k player and see if that works. By the way, it is almost impossible to find this out as Samsung did not put that information in the manual. Almost all 4k content requires 2.2 compliance to display properly. I bought the Evolution kit because I know have multiple HDCP 2.2 devices and I was not going to replace my 2015 75" TV. All of the ports on the SEK3500 are 2.2 compliant but it only works with "select" 2013 TVs. I would use the Samsung chat to determine if it will work with your TV. I've used their chat service several times and they are quite responsive. I do however ask the same question to 2 chat representatives to make sure I get the same answer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, but just to be clear, your UN65F9000AF is already 4K Content capable. This is according to Samsung's spec page for your TV Model. I'd recommend this Evolution Kit anyway because it isn't being sold anymore and the upgrades you get in terms of octa-core processor, newer Firmware updates, HDR unlock/enable. If you are unable to play 4K Blu-rays it's probably because you either don't have an HDMI 2.0 cable from your blu-ray player to the TV. Also, I had to replace my 4k Onkyo receiver because it was about 3yrs old and before HDR came out so it didn't support it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi, The Sek-3500 would make your TV capable of doing the latest 4K (assuming it is compatible now). I couldnt find anything confirming that, best to reach out to Samsung. The most recent thing I could find was 2014 and it mentioned the firmware wasn't fully compatible with your UN65F9000AF. You would still need a blu-ray player (or other device (xbox one x...)) that supports 4k to play 4k disks. This device will only upgrade the processor and capability of your tv. Good luck. Danno
