“How is this powered? I read through specs and several reviews, but I can't discern how it gets power. Does it have a battery/rechargeable? Does it have to be connected to a power source via usb? I want to know how "portable" it is... thanks!”

• It's rechargeable by plugging into USB Port like on a computer/laptop. Or you can charge it via USB Charger (Wall Outlet). Normally takes 2-hours for a full charge.

• It is charged with a built in recharable battery. Can charge by plugging into a USB charger. It also can be charged by connecting to USB on your computer or Laptop. It is a longer time to charge via the computer or laptop.

• a battery rechargeable, just plug in to a usb port and will charge. I use mine for short periods while I transfer videos or pictures from the iPhone to the usb like 10 - 20 mins then I turn it off, probably two hours or so I've been doing this procedure.

• It has an internal battery that charges via USB. So it charges as your uploading files to it but you can also charge it by plugging it into a usb wall wart. I don't believe it can be charging and broadcasting wifi at the same time. I think we get around 6 hrs of use on a full battery before it has to be recharged. That was on a recent trip with multiple devices streaming from it at the same time.

• Basically the flash drive is powered by the usb interface. Every usb capable device gives power thru the usb port. When a usb flash drive is pluged into a usb port, it gets powered automatically. Hope it helps solve your question.
