Yes! It doesn't connect to a wifi network, it creates its own! You connect your device to it and then transfer over.

In fact, quite the opposite, because a device can only be connected to one network at a time, you have to disconnect your computer/phone/tablet from your WiFi network and connect to the flash drive.

You wouldn't be able to transfer from a DSLR unless the camera supports a way to add it. It may be better, if you are using a SD card to just print from the SD card. But I do not know your specifics.
